MCDC is pleased to partner with Cub Foods to host another expanded version of its annual Taste of Many Cultures Event, featuring more entertainment, more authentic multicultural food and more opportunities to learn about the cultures in our global community.

ENTERTAINMENT
Cultural performances by:
Los Soles is a local entertainment group playing Mariachi music in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. Led by Aldo Ramos, the talented musicians play traditional and modern favorites as they stroll about the room, serenading audiences with their Mexican melodies.
Ha Family Lion Troupe moves to the driving beat of the Chinese drum. The Lion Dance is a lively, entertaining, definitive part of Chinese New Year Celebrations and festival openers.
St. Paul Irish Dancers is a local performing group that delights audiences at fairs and events in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota . Founded in 1995 by Eileen Dahill, the Dancers are committed to using dance as a gateway to understanding Irish culture.
Afro-Brazilian Capoeira Association was founded in 1992 in Minneapolis, by Mestre Yoji Senna. The Afro-Brazilian Capoeira Association is dedicated to the teaching and preservation of the art form, fighting method, philosophy, sport, dance, folklore, and cultural resistance that is Capoeira.
Mu Performing Arts presents Taiko, Japanese-style drumming. Taiko drumming goes back to the earliest Japanese communities where it was a part of daily life and rituals. In North America today, taiko has become a dynamic performance art form of musical drumming based upon traditional Japanese styles and techniques. It's loud, strenuous, and pulsating with adrenaline.
Universal Dance Destiny (UDD) is a premier touring dance entertainment company and school based in Minnesota. The company's unique, diverse performers represent all ages, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds and perform dances combining elements of Hip Hop, Breaking/Popping, Traditional West African and African Social dance - including Soukous, Makossa, Mapouka, Ndombolo' and Coupe'/Decalle'. Founded in 2004 by Edna Stevens, their mission is to connect all communities and keep the universe movin' through the history, meaning, and movement of dance.
Halau Hula O Ka Hoku Akau believes that hula is the vessel of memory, tradition, spirituality and legend for the people of Hawai'i. Through the art forms of dance and song, hula recalls the origins of the people; tells the stories of the ancients; celebrates the gods and heroes; and affirms the sacredness of all nature and its relationship to humankind. Founded by Todd Haku Nui Bierbrauer in 2001, Todd and his haumana (students) are dedicated to preserving the mana`o (knowledge) of hula, the culture and traditions of the Hawaiian people through education and performance.
Ash and Reuben Fast Horse are a Native American performing family who have been delighting audiences worldwide with over 3,000 shows, from street to stage, for 10 years. Transcending age, language and culture, the performance focuses on the evolution of Native music and dance. This intimate relationship with performing is expressed through poetry, humor, magic, audience participation, juggling, storytelling, beautiful costumes, song and choreographed dance. The Fast Horses show that will create a memorable experience for adults and children alike.
